IMAGE MANIPULATION

Izzy Photo Manipulation

Here I edited the contents page photo of Izzy by adjusting the colour balance of the image, by increasing the colour of blue in the photo and decreasing the amount of red and green in the image thus creating a more rock an indie feel to the image.
Here I adjusted the selective colour of the image from red to orange to give Izzy a much healthier colour to her skin by making her appear more tanned which would appeal more to the audience.
Here I have adjusted the vibrance of the image of Izzy to again make her feel more warm and healthy to the audience, which is what the people who read the magazine want to see and this will make the main selling point, which is Izzy more appealing to the audience.
Here I adjusted the hue / saturation of the image to give the image of Izzy a much more 'shiny' and realistic feel to the photo. I believe this feature gives the overall image and magazine a better feel to it and also makes it look more real and 'glossy' which is what professional magazines like 'Q' and 'NME' have.
Here I adjusted the contrast and brightness of the image of Izzy to give the photo a slight dark side to Izzy showing a split in personality and that she has two sides to her personality. This is what the majority of rock / indie magazines do to try to represent the style of rock with an edge to the audience.

Here I adjusted the sharpening and of the photo which I believe benefited the magazine as the photo appeared more clearer to the audience, showing off the magazine in a more realistic and professional way. The sharpening of the image also made the photo look more 'crisp' and defined on the front cover.
Here I used the sponge tool to again enhance the image and make the photo of Izzy appear more 'shiny' and 'glossy'. The shine that the photo gives off really makes the image stand out and appear as the most important part of the magazine's selling point.
Here I used the ruler lines to adjust my image size so that my front cover image of Izzy could be the correct size for when I place the image underneath my other layers of stickers, masthead, cover lines etc...
Here I used the spot healing brush to remove any spots that Izzy had on her face so that she would appear as a clean, 'good looking' model which my audience would be engaged and enticed by.
Here I adjusted the shadows, lighting and vibrance of the photo to emphasise Izzy on the photo, compared to the background which showed her importance and dominance within the photo and also this would appeal to the audience as she looks better and would attract a wider audience.
Here I adjusted the colours of Izzy's photo on my front cover, in which I changed the colours of the image which I wanted to stand out the most which were red, for Izzy's Lips, Yellow and brown, for Izzy's hair, and orange, for Izzy’s skin tone / colour.
Here I edited the first photo of my model Callum, used on my contents page. I altered with the exposure, contrast, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity and vibrance to make the photo appear more like a professional and realistic magazine photo.
Here I edited the third and final photo of my model Callum, used on my contents page. I altered with the exposure, contrast, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity and vibrance to make the photo appear more like a professional and realistic magazine photo. I emphasised the face of Callum with a greater contrast and exposure than the other photos because I believe the face of Callum smiling is more important in this photo than the fire extinguisher itself.
Here I edited the second photo of my model Callum, used on my contents page. I altered with the exposure, contrast, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity and vibrance to make the photo appear more like a professional and realistic magazine photo. I emphasised more vibrance on the fire extinguisher that he was holding to make this the more important factor of the photo, which I believe made the model look more like a rock artist.
