LINKS TO MY WORK
My research helped me to decide what I wanted my overall contents page product to look like. I really liked the style and layout of the Q contents page with the main feature article to the right of the page, the name of the page at the top, the features, special and every month features down the right of the page etc... I preferred this style of the contents page to the Vibe contents page as I believe the overall professional style of the vibe contents page did not fit the style I was aiming for. I specifically liked how the content of the contents page was structured across the bottom of the page and down the left hand side of the page and this is where I got my main inspiration from for my magazine contents page.
My research helped me to decide what I wanted my overall front cover product to look like. I really liked the style and layout of the magazine front cover Vibe, with the big bold title across the top of the page and a medium shot of the main artist on the front cover giving direct address to the audience. I also really liked how the cover lines were placed around the image to emphasise the images importance. I specifically liked how the main feature article was placed in the middle with the main story line to the left of the image, and this is where I got my main inspiration from for my magazine front cover.
My research helped me to decide what I wanted my overall double page spread product to look like. I really liked the style and layout of the NME double page spread about Mark Ronson as I felt that the main feature article placement, title location and story placement all looked great. The style of this magazine definitely suits the style of the magazine that I was aiming to produce and research into real life examples of double page spreads helped me to find this example which I was based my magazine cover page around. I specifically liked how the main feature article was placed on the left of the page and how the title went up and across the left hand side of the page and across the top of the page as well, and this magazine example was where I got my main inspiration from for my magazine's double page spread.
